A couple of big things to tell you about…

New Monthly
Video Podcast
It’s been a major goal of mine to do a regular video show but the issues of bandwidth and copyright clearance have been major issues. The second you post anything copyrighted on YouTube, it gets flagged by the major labels. I respect their right to their content, but it makes doing this a real headache.  The bandwidth required to host a video mix myself is overwhelming – then the legal issues come into play as well.

So it’s with great excitement that I announce my new monthly video podcast with Fusion TV (part of the Fusion radio family). I will be doing an hour-long mixed set which is viewable in high quality from the site on your computer or mobile device (on good WiFi, clearly).  The first set is a mix of some of my recent favorites by Luciana, Arty, John de Sohn, Katrina, Fedde Le Grand, Benny Benassi and more.   Check it out here.  Would love to know what y’all think!  (Photo with Benny Benassi from WMC 2012.)
Guess What – I’m On Itunes

My weekly DJ Ron podcast is now available through iTunes (click here)! I cannot tell you how exciting this, as whenever I tell somebody about my podcast, the response is usually ‘can I get it on iTunes.’  This has been a challenge and a nearly yearlong process, but as of last Friday, the DJ Ron podcast is now listed in the iTunes directory,  So this means you can now get your ears on the weekly DJ Ron podcast through Podomatic, Soundcloud, iTunes, and the DJ Ron app. In honor of this, I posted a special extra podcast this morning for y’all to enjoy this weekend – be sure to experience podcast #257.  I think it’s one of the best I’ve ever done.

Great shows coming to Nashville
Have you noticed the influx of great shows coming to town? Icona Pop is coming with Sirah (of Skrillex “Bangarang”) and K-Flay. Charli XCX is on her way. Krewella makes their third visit (this time at War Memorial). One of my favorite VJs (and good friend) Barry Browder from Fort Lauderdale is coming to Tribe. So much going on, Nashville is definitely the music city!  (Picture with Icona Pop from Promo Only Summer Sessions 2012.)
Party Time this Weekend

My dance card is full this weekend – spinning Friday (tonight) at Tribe, Saturday (tomorrrow) and Sunday at Play. For Tribe, I’ve been finding some funny clips to throw in the mix – have you seen the gender-switched version of “Blurred Lines,” or the Taylor Swift parody called “32”?   For Play, there is a bunch of great new music, with my personal favorite being the aggressive “Back Off Bitch” by Static Revenger and Kay (aka My Name is Kay for all you hipsters out there). All of you Disney Diva lovers awaiting the remixes of the new Selena Gomez “Slow Down” will be happy to know that they are on the way for next weekend, but in the meantime check out the remixes of Zendaya “Replay.” I am still working my way through new music, but standouts so far include new tacks from Tommy Trash, Laidback Luke, and Alex Gaudino.  These will be in the mix along with all of your current favorites Saturday night at Play.  (Picture with Laidback Luke from WMC 2012.)
