NEWSLETTER: October 5th

There’s a lot going on this weekend.

Nashville CARES AIDS WAlk
Tomorrow (Saturday) is the 2012 Nashville AIDS Walk & 5K Run benefiting Nashville CARES.  It’s not too late to register – go to their website and register (by yourself, or get a group together).  I will be proudly walking with the Play/Tribe/Suzy Wong’s team.  I hope to see y’all out there!
Tastefully Unpredictable

Just a few hours left to enter to win a pair of tickets to Tastefully Unpredictable.  The brand new event launched by the Nashville GLBT Chamber of Commerce combines fine food, fun entertainment, and an auction at OZ in West Nashville this Sunday (the 7th).  While the hilarious Girl on Girl comedy troupe will probably be my highlight, there is so much going on that you will definitely find something you love.  Admission also includes the free round trip FADDs shuttle from Play to Oz and after the event, your wristband will get you in free at Play as well as wrangle drink specials at Stirrup and Canvas. I will be announcing the winner Saturday morning, but I would still recommend buying a ticket from their website as this will be a fun event that you don’t want to miss.
Tribe Time
This weekend, I am spinning at Tribe on Friday and Sautrday – so, I’ve been digging around trying to fine interesting and new fun stuff to throw in the mix.  Yes, I’ve got the new Debbie Gibson reloaded mix that everyone is buzzing about.  That will be in the mix, along with lots of fun pop, dance, a touch of country, and all the random weirdness that y’all love.  As always, I welcome requests at Tribe – so come up, say hey, and let me know what you want to hear.  Don’t forget to wear RED tonight (Friday)!

I’ve been quite busy this week making the move from AOL to Outlook. I woke up and realized it was 2012 and time to move away from my AOL eMail to a more professional eMail.  Geek was my middle name- I was dumping to CSV, cleaning up, sending out batches of eMails (to avoid the spam categorization), and monitoring the bounceback.  So basically, please update your address books – replace with the new

A bit of Vanilla..

Scent that is.  This week on, I focused on the art collection from Micallef with four vanilla scents – Orient, Leather, Flower, and Marine.  All four were exceptionally blended with long life and a nice transition. It’s amazing to me how the same note can be transformed so many different ways.  Read my reviews here and my interview with the perfumer here.

Bananarama in Atlanta

Is anyone going to see Bananarama in Atlanta on Sunday?  If you are planning to drive down and drive right back – please let me know. I might be up for carpooling. I’ve been told by reliable sources who saw the tour’s opening night in New York that it was a total blast.

WRVU Update
(Repeat from last week)
I am still in a holding pattern waiting to hear from the Vanderbilt Student Communications Board to see if I have been approved to DJ for this semester.  If the shows get approved in time for Saturday, I will tweet it out for everyone to know – so be sure to follow me on twitter at @djron91 In the meantime, be sure to tune into Freedom Dance on WRFN 107.1 from 7pm-9pm on Saturdays.  For fun mixed sets anytime, check out my podcasts on the DJ App for iPhone/Android, Podomatic, and Soundcloud.

As always, I want to thank you for your support – it means more than you can imagine.
