So Much Going On: DJ Ron Update – Friday, April 17th

So much going on this week!

Support WXNA on Record Store Day!
As a music lover, I believe in supporting real record stores.  Yes, Amazon, iTunes, and Beatport are great, but they can’t replicate the feel of holding CDs and records in your hand or the camaraderie of chatting while digging through crates.  WXNA will be out in FULL FORCE tomorrow (Saturday) at Fond Object, Grimey’s, The Groove, and Third Man Records spreading the word about the station while supporting the stores that sell the music we love.  Pick up tote bags, t-shirts, bumper stickers, and THE COOLEST glow in the dark 45 adapters ever.  See you in the record stores tomorrow.
(We Are) Nexus – Live at Play

Keeping the vibe of real music, after enjoying the record stores on Saturday, come out to Play for a special performance by (We Are) Nexus.  The duo is blowing up on radio with “They’ll Never Stop Me” as they tour the US on their Digital Tour Bus!   I am so excited to be performing with them again – a great flashback to the incredible Fusion VideoTron night at Mova in Miami last year during the Winter Music Conference.  I am pulling together an incredible set of new music including some of the big hits from WMC this year (Bob Sinclar and Dawn Tallman “Feel the Vibe,” Luciana and GloVibes “One by One”) to mix with all of the big club hits and remixes of your favorite pop jams.  Come out and party with us tomorrow night (Saturday) at Play!

Don’t forget to stop by Play tonight for Fairy Tale: H8’s a Drag 2015.  The merry minstrels of the Music City Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence will celebrate the 4th anniversary of fun and desive event.   The money raised supports youth charities (Oasis Center, Streetworks, and Launch Pad) and brings together a diverse variety of Drag talent for a show like you’ve never seen before. Doors open at 8pm tonight so enjoy the show and help support a great cause!

Film Festival
The Nashville Film Festival is currently going on in Green Hills, with a lot of great movies to be seen. Take a look at nashvillefilmfestival.org for a full schedule and tickets, including the must-see documentary Do I Sound Gay? (which features Tim Gunn, Dan Savage,  George Takei, David Sedaris, and Margaret Cho).
Dining Out for Life

Next Tuesday, be sure to choose a restaurant from this list so you can help raise money by Dining Out for Life.  Proceeds from Dining Out for Life benefit Nashville CARES!   My annual tradition is to join my good friend Wresch and the Primetimers for a jovial meal.  Maybe I will see you out?

Big Announcement

Coming next week… I am still waiting for a few things to fall into place, but by next Friday, I should be able to make a major announcement that I am insanely excited about.

Stay tuned.

As always, I want to thank you for your support – it means more than you can imagine.
